Modern Awards

At Bedford Modern School it is the child that counts and the new Modern Awards have been devised to provide opportunities for children with potential - academically, in sport and in the performing arts - to be able to count on a BMS education regardless of family means.

Throughout its history, Bedford Modern School has played a central part educationally in the town. It has always been representative of the local area with the main attraction of the School being its ability to gather the academically able. The School is now fully co-educational with the opportunity to attend BMS open to both girls and boys of all age groups from 7 to 18. Many local people are grateful for the education they received and many received financial assistance to attend the School. One substantial strength of the School is its embracing friendly nature, and students immediately feel welcome and at home.

It is from this background and to extend those opportunities that Bedford Modern School is now announcing its plans for the Modern Awards. The School will be forever grateful to its friends and benefactors who have and are giving generously in support of the Modern Awards and it is our intention to provide between 10 and 15 full awards annually.

Awards will be made based on academic selection, and/or outstanding performance in sport and the performing arts. All Awards will be subject to means testing. For further details please contact Angela Davies (Admissions' Registrar) at the School on 01234 332500.
