Rugby Union
The School has a long and proud tradition of playing Rugby in the autumn term. 24 sides regularly represent the School on Saturdays with three senior teams, A and B teams from Year 4-11 along with C Teams in Year 7-11.
The quality of our fixture card is high with encounters against schools such as RGS High Wycombe, Haileybury, Bromsgrove, Warwick and our near neighbours Bedford School. The boys are coached to a high standard and are encouraged to play an expansive style of Rugby which is enjoyable to participate in and hopefully engenders a lifelong love of the game.
We also enter the National Schools Daily Mail Cup at U15 and U18, which culminates in the final being played at Twickenham.
In the Spring term all age groups from Y7 upwards play 7s. This abbreviated form of the game is an excellent way of honing skills and developing technical and tactical awareness. In the second half of the term there are various tournaments to participate in, culminating in attendance at the National Schools Tournament in London, the biggest Rugby tournament in the world. In 2005 the U18 squad reached the quarter-final stages, a notable achievement.
